Op shop fail.

Op shop fail.

Sometimes you find something in an op shop that is too good to be true. For instance, I found this Royal Doulton egg cup still in it’s box. I thought it might be a good gift sometime during the year. It ended up going into rotation because we didn’t have any other egg cups at the time.

Cute, right?

Cute, right?

On Easter Sunday, when I went to put Little Fearse’s boiled egg in this cup I noticed its fatal flaw.

Only okay if it's describing some kind of literature aimed at pigs. Animal Farm?

The English teacher in me just can’t handle it. Guess what’s our latest item to make it into the donation box?

Pfft. Pig lit. (Actually, it’s a lot nicer to say than ‘Piglet’..I can hardly stop myself. Pig lit! Pig lit!)

  1. Ahhhh but perhaps this little egg cup is like that upside down swan stamp that is now worth a fortune?? Imperfections make items priceless….just a thought…(pig lit pig lit pig lit…and what about Charlotte’s Web?)

    • Yes, someone else suggested this, too. I pointed out that you can purchase the same ‘pig lit’ egg cup on Ebay for about $8.95. They neglect to point out that it is incorrectly spelt. I guess everyone is just carrying on as though nothing usual is happening at all…
